Mouth

With black yarn:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR
Rnd 2: 6 inc
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) ×6
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) ×6 in front loops only

Make a slip stitch into the first stitch to close the round, ch 1.
Cut and fasten off.

Change to red yarn:

Attach yarn to round 4 and crochet
(2 sc, inc) ×6 in back loops only.

Now crochet the petals in rows:

Join with sl st in first stitch to close round, ch 2.

Row 1: 4 hdc, 2 ch, turn
Row 2: 2 hdc in one st, 2 dc, 2 hdc in one st, 2 ch, turn
Row 3: 2 hdc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, ch 1, turn
Row 4: 2 hdc, dc dec (like normal dec but with dc instead of sc), 2 hdc, ch 1, turn
Row 5: dec, dc, dec, ch 1, turn
Row 6: decrease over three stitches, ch 1

Fasten off.

Return to round 4, skip 1 stitch to the left from the first petal, attach red yarn and crochet the next petal.

Make 5 petals total.

Outer part of the mouth:

Crochet the same way using the main body color, but in round 4 work through both loops.

After finishing the last petal of the outer part, do not cut the yarn. Continue crocheting.

Place both parts together with right sides facing out and crochet sc all around the edge.

At the top point of each petal, crochet into one stitch:
2 sc, 2 ch, sc in ch, sc in the same stitch where you made the first sc.

Sew the finished mouth piece exactly in the middle of the head
