0-6months – 9,5cm
6-12months – 11cm
yarn
30g or 70 yards of any worsted weight yarn (MEDIUM 4) (for sample 100% wool yarn was used)
small amount of worsted weight yarn in contrasting color or two ribbons (each approx.. 50cm long)
crochet hook 3.5mm (E)
With worsted weight yarn – work 9sts and 9rows in sc to measure 5x5cm or 2x2in using 3.5mm hook, or size required to obtain the gauge.

Two dc worked together (dc2tog):
Begin to work dc in next st, but don’t complete it, leaving 2 loops on hook, work another incomplete dc in next st, so that you have 3 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the hook. Stitch completed.
Both shoes are made in exactly the same way!
When making the sole, you have to join in first hdc and start next round with next st, not with the one where you joined!
Rnd 1: 9 [11]ch, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next 5[7]sts, 6hdc in last ch, work on opposite side, hdc in next 5[7] sts, 5hdc in last ch, join with sl st in first hdc.
Rnd 2: 1ch, hdc in next 6[8]sts, 2hdc in each of next 5sts, hdc in next 6[8]sts, 2hdc in each of next 5sts, join with sl st in first hdc.
Rnd 3: 1ch, hdc in next 6[8]sts, (2hdc in next st, 1hdc in next st) 5 times, hdc in next 6[8]sts, (2hdc in next st, 1hdc in next st) 5 times, join with sl st in first hdc.
Rnd 1: ch1, (working in both loops), sc in next 3[4]sts, dc in next 20[22]sts, sc in next 18[19]sts, join with sl st in first sc (41[45]sts)
Rnd 2: ch1, sc in base of ch-1, sc in next 2[3]sts, dc in next 20[22]sts, sc in next 18[19]sts, join with sl st in first sc (41[45]sts)

Rnd 3: ch1, sc in base of ch-1, sc in next 2[3]sts, dc2tog – 10[11]times, sc in next 18[19]sts, join with sl st in first sc (31[34]sts)
Rnd 4: ch3 (counts as first hdc and ch1), skip next st, hdc in nex st, ch1, repeat from * 13[15] times more, (these will be loops for ribbon or cord), skip next 2[1]st and join with sl st in 2nd ch of ch-3 (30[34]sts)

Rnd 5 for size 0-6months: ch1, skip next ch-1 sp, 6dc in next ch-1 sp, skip next ch-1 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp, repeat 3times more, but in last repeat instead of last sc join with sl st in ch-1. Fasten off.
Rnd 5 for size 6-12months: ch1, 3dc in next ch-1 sp, skip next ch-1 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp, skip next ch-1 sp, 6dc in next ch-1 sp, repeat 3times more, but in last repeat instead of 6dc work 3dc and join with sl st in first dc of round. Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
With contrasting color yarn, work 50cm long chain and starting from the front, weave it through the loops made in Rnd4. Tie a bow. Instead of a chain you can use ribbon.
