Mitts (MaKe 2):
CO 32 sts, arranging 12 sts on ndl 1
and 10 sts across ndls 2 and 3. Join for
working in rnd, being careful not to
twist sts. Work k2, p2 rib for 10 rnds.
next rnd: Begin working chart across
ndl 1, cont rib pat across ndls 2 and 3.
Rep chart 3 times. Work thumb gusset
on row 6 of 2nd chart rep as follows:
Left mitt: work even in patt to last 2 sts
of ndl 3 and work Thumb Gusset.
Right mitt: work across ndl 1, k2 from
ndl 2 and work Thumb Gusset, k2, p2
to end.
thUMb GUsset:
rnd 1: P1, pm, M1L, pm, P1.
rnd 2: P1, sm, k to next marker, sm, p1.
rnd 3: P1, sm, M1L, k to next marker,
M1R, sm, p1.
Rep last 2 rounds 3 more times until
there are 9 sts between markers. Rep
rnd 2 once more, sl sts between markers
to waste yarn and remove markers.
After third rep of chart, rep row 1 of
chart once more, then work 5 rows k2,
p2 rib. BO loosely in patt.
thumb: Move thumb sts from waste
yarn onto ndls and rejoin yarn. Pick up
and knit 2 sts across body of mitt.
[11 sts] Knit 5 rnds even, then BO very
loosely (or use sewn BO).
Weave in ends and block lightly
