Sassy-Chic Modified African Flower Granny Square Mini Finger Puppet Dragon

Materials Used: Medium weight #4 Acrylic yarn in the colors of white, purple or
choose your own colors, 14mm plastic safety eyes, 4.0mm crochet hook or your
choice, yarn needle, small amount of fiber-fil. Approx. measurement is 12 ¾”
from tip of nose to the end of tail and 6 ¾” across the granny square body.
Abbreviations in US terms:
MR = magic ring
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Dc = double crochet
Tr = triple crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
FO = fasten off
St = stitch
Ch 3 picot = chain 3, slip stitch in the bottom 2 stitches
Puff = Pull up a loop, y/o 4 times and pull through all loops, ch 1

Granny Square Body: (Note: I used purple yarn in round 3)
Rnd 1. MR, * 2dc, ch 1*, repeat around x 8, tighten the ring, sl st to join, ch 1
Rnd 2. *2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in each ch 1 sp* repeat around, sl st to join, ch 1
Rnd 3. 5 dc in each ch 1 sp repeat around x 8, sl st to join, ch 1
Rnd 4. sc in the next five st, drop st in next st repeat around, sl st to join, ch 1
Rnd 5. Sc, sc, hdc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, hdc (one corner made), sc, sc, sc, hdc, sc, sc, sc, hdc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, hdc x 3, sc, sc, sc, hdc, sc, sl st to join, ch 1
Rnd 6. Spacing between 4 & 5 st apart, *hdc, hdc, hdc, hdc.(hdc, ch 3 picot), in 3 of the
corners tr, tr+picot, tr, in one corner you will make the tail, hdc, ch 20, sl st in 2nd ch
from hook and in each ch across, hdc in the same st as 1st hdc. You will sew the heart
tail to the end of this tail. To make your mini dragon into a finger puppet, sl st
underneath the body nearest to the the stitch on one side with the picot near the head,
ch 10, sl st to the other side and fasten off.

Body

Back Scales:
Starting on the center back of the head and working across the center of the body and
down the tail, sl st, in next st, sc, dc, repeat approx. 20 times, sl st, FO
