to day I’m going to share vedio tutorial a crochet tip on how to change Yar color smoothly between rounds here is the sample using the typical color change method withe vedio tutorial notice the transition between the two colors is uneven and the age where the colors meet is Jagged take a look at this other sample the transition between the green and white is seamless and smooth the fabric break is a much nicer appearance let me show you how to make this effect I’ve just finished crocheting the green round and the next round will be

Change Yarn Colors

white hold the white Yar in your left hand and make a turning chain for the new round the usual method is to insert the hook directly into the Stitch and do a wide single crochet however notice that white yarn sits on on top of the green Stitch the white can’t fully cover the green leading to that jacket uneven edge so how can we solve this problem the first method is to crochet a round of white sleeve stitches on top of the Green Round let me show you start with the Turning chain then crochet a SLE slip stitch

into each Stitch same slip stitches only create a top Loop we end up with a neat round of wide top Loops this sets the stage for the next round in next round when we crochet white stitches on white Loop it will have a smooth seamless color transition with no green showing through that’s the first method the second method is to change the top Loops of the current round to White during crochet let me show you how I will unravel this round and redo it now I want to crochet a round of green single crochet stitches but with

white top Loops first make a turning chain with the white Yar now the Yar on my hook is white insert the hook into the first Stitch switch to Green Yar with left hand yam over the hook with the green Yar and pull it through now my hook has two Loops one white and one green Yar over with the white Yar and pull through both Loops to complete the Stitch this Stitch Has a wide top Loop let’s do another one y over with green Yar pull through yarn over with white yar and p through try to keep the Yar loose so

it’s easier to insert the hook in the next round in this way we can change the top Loop of the whole round to white color remember the color of the loop on your hook determines the color of the top Loop for the next Stitch when crocheting a single crochet the first Yar over creates the Stitch body and the second yarn over creates the top Loop of the next Stitch let’s finish this round using this method I’ve just completed the last Stitch drawing it with the first Stitch using a slip

stitch pull it tight now you can see that the top loops of this round are all white when we crochet the next round into this white top Loops it prevents the Green from showing through and avoids the jagal age let me crochet a few stitches to show you see the transition between these two rounds is now smooth and seamless you can try this technique I hope it helps
