A friend of mine asked me to crochet a hippo crochet pattern free pdf for her granddaughter, and I was more than happy to take on the challenge! I searched for patterns but couldn’t find one that felt just right, so I decided to create my own.

After lots of experimenting, tweaking, and stitching, this Little Hibao finally came to life! I had so much fun making her, and I hope she brings joy to others as well! 🎀🐭✨ What you will need

Material:
 Yarn ( Susan’s Family ): light blue
( 14 ), sky ( 54 ), light gray ( 11 ),
skin pink ( 07 )
 Crochet hook size 2.2mm
 Safety eyes size 5mm
 Needle for sewing
 Stuffing (Polyfil

  •  Rnd – Round
  •  MR- Magic ring
  •  Sc -Single crochet
  •  Slst – Slip stitch
  •  Inc – Single crochet increase
  •  Dec – Single crochet decrease
  •  Ch – Chain
  •  FLO – Front loop only
  •  BLO – Back loop only
  •  Hdc – half double crochet
  •  (…)* – Repeat instruction x time
  •  […] – Number of stitches of each round/row

Use light blue yarn

2. 6inc [ 12 ]

Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew the ears to the head between round 7

Head: ( Use light blue yarn )

Insert safety eyes between rounds 12-13 leaving a space of 6sc
o Embroider the eyebrow and muzzle with black embroidery thread
o Embroider the nose with sky embroidery thread
o Use white yarn to make the teeth.
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing.

Use light gray yarn
1. Mr, 6sc [ 6 ] Change the yarn to light blue 2. ( 2sc, inc )*2 [ 8 ] 3. 8sc [ 8 ] 4. ( 3sc, inc )*2 [ 10 ]

Tail: ( Use light blue yarn )
In order to get a thicker tail, use two stands of the yarn together while
crocheting the tail. Insert your crochet hook into between rounds 7-8 of body:
5ch , fasten off and trim the excess.

Legs: ( Make 2)
o Right leg
Use light gray yarn

1. MR, 6sc [ 6 ]
2. ( sc, inc )*3 [ 9 ] Change the yarn to light blue
3. 9sc [ 9 ] Fasten off

Left leg
Repeating rounds 1-3 of the right leg with the same color. Do not cut the yarn
as we will join the legs together to make the body.

 Use skin pink yarn working on the FLO Round 18 of the Body:
Ch1, ( 3hdc in the same st )*30.
